Sistersville Hospital, The First Presbyterian Church of Sistersville, local farmers, WV Department of Agriculture, and WVU have joined forces with FARMacy WV to provide Tyler County with a unique opportunity to take control of your future, and make healthy changes that make a real difference in your life!  This year-long program is called FARMacy+ and consists of support and education to assist you through this journey of behavioral changes.

To participate, you need to be an adult.  You can bring another adult household member with you!

There is no cost to participate, but those who apply should be committed to make long-term lifestyle changes and be ready to create new healthier habits.

The program tentatively begins with Fresh Start!, a series of classes focused on a healthy diet, physical activity, stress management, control of unhealthy substances, healthy sleep and meaningful relationships, with support to help you achieve successful lifestyle change!

Sessions will be Wednesdays from 11:30-1:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sistersville.  One other adult member of your household may attend with you.

Food demos will be a part of each Fresh Start! session, and you will be provided with food items to take home and prepare the featured recipe in your own home.

The summer brings the FARMacy Program and 15 weeks of fresh, locally grown produce to continue supporting your behavioral chance.  Participants continue attending weekly educational sessions, cooking classes, and exercise coaching.

Participants are required to complete health surveys, have height, weight and blood pressure measured, and blood drawn for lab work 4 times during the program as well as commit to participate and attend weekly sessions and work at making the suggested behavioral changes.
